YOU ARE FROM HEAVEN
5th Dec 2011 - 03:57:43 .

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:20
Christians have citizenship in heaven. Although we live in this world and have natural citizenship with our respective countries, we must not lose sight of where our first citizenship is from.
We are God's people with full citizenship in His kingdom who live temporarily on earth.
Like our Father, we live in heaven but work on earth. We have the permission to use our contacts in heaven to influence conditions here on earth.
As citizens of heaven, we have access to:
• The Father. The creator and ultimate owner of both heaven and earth is our Father. We are related to Him by blood — the blood of Christ Jesus our Lord. We are part of the Father's family. He loves us without any reservation. The Father watches out for us and seeks to lavish His love on us.
• Heavenly riches. We have access to all the riches of the Father — His presence and power. For every need we have, there is provision made for us in heavenly places which we can draw on to use here on earth.
In our heavenly home, there are no shortages. The Father has enough for each one of His children and is able to supply all of our needs without any shortfall.
 • Angelic support. We have access to the military forces of our kingdom — the angels. When we face tough battles here on earth, we can petition the Father to send us help from above. The angel of the Lord surrounds our dwelling places and keeps guard over us by day and night.
With such citizenship privileges, why do we limit ourselves to the shortages of our earthly nations?
Prayer: Claim God's promise that gives you an inheritance in Christ and rejoice because He has blessed you with all spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ.

THE MAIN EVENT 6th Dec 2011 - 02:10:30 .   Comments (0)
And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:7
In December 1903, Wilbur and Orville Wright sent a telegram to their family from Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, It said, "We actually flew 120 feet. We'll be home for Christmas."
Their sister Katharine took it to the editor of the local newspaper. His response was interesting. "Oh, how nice," he said. "The boys will be home for Christmas."
He missed the main event: Mankind had flown! Much bigger news happened in a little town outside Jerusalem 1900 years earlier, but some people missed it.
We find one of them in Luke 2. The innkeeper at Bethlehem missed the main event because he was too preoccupied with his business.
Although there's always room available for a stranger in that part of the world, he showed no hospitality whatsoever. He sent Joseph and Mary to a stable.
This shows the attitude of the world toward God. When it comes to spiritual things, and the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, most people's response is that they're too busy.
In Matthew 2, we find the second one who missed the main event, a paranoid politician.
King Herod was fearful and perturbed when the magi came looking for a newborn "King of the Jews." This was Herod's title, and he didn't want any competition. He didn't want to lose control.
There are people today who won't let God interfere with their personal kingdoms. God is fine as long as He doesn't invade their space.
Like Herod, they claim to worship God, but it's really all about them. How about you?
Are you preoccupied with the festivities of the season that you are missing the reason for Christmas? Are you paranoid about losing your position as king of your own life? Or are you just passive and can't be bothered? Don't miss the main event.
Prayer: Thank God for the gift of His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ the Lord.
Scriptural Reading: Luke 2:1-7
